Description

Are you looking for a full-time position in behavioral health where you can make a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing substance use and mental health disorders? 

 

Community Health Alliance is a non-profit behavioral health agency that provides behavioral health treatment services . We have part-time and full-time openings for Peer Recovery Supporters.  As a Peer Recovery Supporter, you engage in activities with individuals that promote resiliency, recovery, self-determination, advocacy, well-being and skill development.  Qualified candidates must be in recovery from mental health or substance use disorders and be certified by the State of Ohio. 

 

 Starting pay is $16/hour

As a Peer Recovery Supporter your job duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Educates clients on the purpose of peer support and recovery models.
  • Provides clients with very clear definitions of recovery and its components.
  • Intentionally share your story as appropriate, providing hope and help in changing patterns and behavior.
  • Be well informed about trauma and explore with clients their experiences and support them in getting appropriate resources aide in their recovery.
  • Have their own Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and help our patients develop their WRAP.
  • Help persons in crisis explore options to benefit in recovery and maintaining stability.
  • Provide culturally-sensitive and age-specific services. 
  • Focus positively on emotional growth, strengths, and recovery goals.
  • Encourage clients to become self-directed and focused on their strengths.
  • Provide resources beneficial in recovery.

Qualifications


  • Must be 18 years or older 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification
  • Identify as a person in mental health or substance use recovery.
  • Maintained a year of sobriety
  • Active listening skills
  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation
