Mental Health Crisis Specialist

Compensation – $20.00 (based on experience, education, and certifications)

Position Summary: The Crisis Specialist is responsible for providing on/off site crisis intervention and stabilization, assessments and short-term case management to adults, children, and adolescents in crisis or emergency mental health situations.
Primary Goal: Provide Crisis Mobile Team services which meet Member needs, the needs of the community, and all contractual obligations of Community Health Associates.
Qualifications Required:
· Bachelor ‘s degree in behavioral health related field; or bachelor’s degree in non-behavioral related field with (1) year behavioral health work experience; or High School Diploma or GED with (4) years of behavioral health experience.
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral management, de-escalation methods, crisis intervention, and defusing techniques to prevent violent behavior harmful to self or others and the ability to apply these techniques to a client population in various levels of crisis.
· Demonstrate knowledge of special populations such as substance abuse.
· Demonstrate the ability to distinguish between alcohol and other drug-related symptoms, pre-existing physical problems, or pathological behaviors.
· Demonstrate the ability to provide counseling/case management to SMI in the Mental Health Program.
· Demonstrate knowledge of referral resources available to participants.
· Able to effectively employ analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Able to work daytime, nights, weekends, holidays (8/10/12 hour shifts)
· Working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
· Certification in First Aid and CPR which Company will provide if candidate does not currently have in possession.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and pass a background check.
· Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
· Must be able to pass a vendor background check for Lake Havasu Police department.

Qualifications Preferred:
· Independent License AZ BHBE (salary differential based on Licensure)
· Bilingual – English/Spanish
· Experience working in the field or combined field specific education and experience totaling 4 years of experience.
· Advance knowledge of cultural diversity and sensitivity
