Typical Day:
7 am - 10 am: Some clients start their day early. We assist by helping with food and medication administration if needed.
10 am - 3 pm: Engage in day programs, public outings, goal setting, etc. Our clients have hopes and ambitions just like us. Whether they are working in the community, exploring, or vision boarding, we act as their supportive guides. We encourage all our staff to lead from the perspective of an advocate first.
3 pm - 5 pm: Shifts change, and workers come home. They will want to unwind, just like you would after a long day. This can mean talking to friends, watching a show, or working on a movie script (yes, our clients are well-rounded).
5 pm - 8 pm: Break out your cooking and air frying skills (we don't judge!). We ask all our evening staff to prepare dinner for our clients. The house is always fully stocked with food and great appliances.
8 pm - 11 pm: For clients on nightly medication, we assist with that. If not, hey, what are you usually doing at 10 pm? TikTok? They are as well.
11 pm - 7 am: Clients sleep unless they are night owls. Either way, this is the shift where we get the house ready for the next day. In the industry, we call this the "heavy cleaning shift," but in our homes, it's more like extra wipe-down shifts. Throughout the day, we keep things clean and orderly.
