**Job Summary:**
The Controller position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting for the health center. This role involves managing various financial functions such as general accounting, accounts payable, cash management, grants management, revenue cycle, procurement, and decision support.
**Responsibilities:**
- Ensure that financial operations, reporting, policies, and procedures comply with accounting principles and federal/state regulations.
- Develop and manage accurate finance systems and processes for the health center, including managing accounting software systems.
- Provide timely, accurate, and compliant fiscal reporting for internal/external communication, decision-making, and financial management.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of financial and operating metric reporting, including participating in external benchmarking resources and surveys.
- Lead the annual budget process, collaborate with budget owners, and prepare financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Manage financial and 401k audits, tax returns, and compliance with laws and reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely completion and compliance of financial components for grant applications and stay updated on grant reporting and compliance requirements.
- Support leadership in financial information, operational results, accounting processes, and analytics.
- Communicate complex concepts effectively and ensure compliance with financial HRSA requirements and reporting.
- Prepare third-party cost reports, oversee payroll tax returns, and serve as a resource for financial issues.
**Qualifications:**
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
- Experience: 5 years' experience managing finances in a comparable agency. Experience in FQHC or not-for-profit healthcare preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel and General Ledger accounting systems.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial and statistical reports.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service orientation.

- Compensation: $100,000 per year (salaried).
- Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Evening work and job-related stress may be involved.
- Regular on-site attendance and staff meeting attendance required. Additional duties as assigned or requested.
