POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transportation Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients and prescription medications. Responsible for coordinating transportation schedules, communicating with drivers and staff, and ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. Also responsible for direct supervision of all drivers (Full time, part-time or per-diem)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate transportation schedules for patients and prescription deliveries
- Supervises CHCFC Drivers, to include performance appraisal, schedule and time card monitoring, payroll approval, paid time off approval and call-out management. Also includes oversite of safe driver stats within the vehicle monitoring system and corrective action as needed.
- Communicate with drivers and medical staff to ensure timely and safe transportation
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities
- Troubleshoot transportation issues and provide solutions
- Deliver orders according to assigned directions for each order
- Assist in keeping delivery room in order
- Cover driver shifts as needed
- Provide cross-coverage for additional delivery routes
- Complete all required paperwork, including delivery reports and signatures from recipients of packages
- Operates health center vehicle safely and maintains detailed daily activity log and vehicle log per health center policies and procedures.
Education:
- Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Shipping environment, preferably in a Pharmacy or Medical setting preferred or in transportation coordination or related field preferred
- Familiarity with transportation software and technology
- Must have access to a smart phone (Transportation Coordination App requires cell phone)
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Follow driving safety guidelines including speed limits, lane changes, and use of turn signals
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently to accomplish goal
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
