Description
Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL) seeks to hire an experienced Texas licensed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has a heart for working with low-income and underserved populations. This position plays a vital role in our goal to serve our patients, their families and support physicians in the community. Duties include:
- Provide patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the designated supervising staff physician
- Obtain medical and personal histories
- Perform initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
- Educate patients and families
- Prioritize and assess patients
- Provide primary care through wellness visits and assessment
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to a variety of patients
- Maintain standard universal precautions
- Prescribe medications and completes treatments according to office policies and within age-specific parameters.
- Maintain and complete all necessary patient record documentation
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education: Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).
Experience: 6 months pediatric clinic experience required.
Expertise: Pediatrics
Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.
Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work. On-call required.
