POSITION SUMMARY:
Full time days: Monday- Friday within clinic hours of operation performing Medical Assistant work in our West Burlington Pediatric Clinic. Some flexibility in schedule required to meet facility needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Obtains medical and/or social history and all vital signs and measurements as directed and document them appropriately.
- Assists the providers with examination of patients.
- Obtains and prepares specimen for processing as directed.
- Administers treatments, immunizations and medications correctly as directed.
- Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in examination rooms.
- Maintains equipment and supplies including those in the emergency kit: cleans and sterilizes any and all instruments.
- Maintains records and reports all data pertinent to patient care.
- Participates in internal CHC/SEIA meetings and in-service training sessions as scheduled.
- Participates in professional continuing education, including current CPR certification.
- As assigned, receives patient calls for appointments and schedules patient as appropriate.
- Assists coworkers in patient care or other tasks in order to maintain an even flow of patients and paperwork.
- Performs lab tests as assigned and is responsible for running controls and record keeping.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assistant or LPN training program.
- Must be certified by a national association (e.g. AAMA, NHA, NCCT) as a Certified Medical Assistant; or by the State of Iowa as LPN.
