What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAINTENANCE MECHANIC position at COMMUNITY HEALTH OF SOUTH FLORIDA INC?
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Mechanic work in conjunction with the Project Manager another mechanic to facilitate a safe environment for patients and staff which will ensure compliance to the established standards of the organization.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School Graduate or GED desired. 2 – 3 years experience in general maintenance. Experience in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Licensure / Certification:
Must have a valid Florida Drivers License. Air conditioning and/or electrical certification required. Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills / Ability:
Knowledge of proper and safe use of hand and power tools. Ability to effectively evaluate and communicate status of assignments. Ability to keep records and prepares reports. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to interpret and work from rough sketches. Ability to make rough estimates of time and materials. Ability to develop skill in the use, i.e., framing & finishing, plumbing skills, tiling, finishing carpentry, and care of the tools, materials, and equipment of trade areas.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION)
Inspection and preventive maintenance on all pumps, motors and starters.
General maintenance, repair on doors, windows, walls, ceiling, tile and roof leaks.
Trimming or trees and removal of debris.
Maintaining adequate supplies of on hand materials: nuts, bolts, nails, lumber, belts, a/c filters etc.
Preventative maintenance on refrigeration and a/c units: check free-on, clean and replace filters, check and replace belts, grease bearings, repair of floor title and carpet.
All maintenance mechanics are required to help in environmental emergency tasks.
Repair and replacement of existing electrical fixtures.
Repair and/or replacing locks small doors.
Re-keying and cutting new keys for locks.
Repair and replacement, of parts of all refrigeration and air conditioning units: compressors fans, switches timers, etc.
Repair of office furniture, desks, chairs, lamps, file cabinets, address-o-graphs, staplers, etc.
Repair or replacement of relocation of doors, walls, and construction of new areas.
Installation of new electrical fixtures, wiring, lights, switch, receptacles, etc.
Installation of new floor tile or carpet.
Removal of existing tile or carpet.
Prepares surfaces to be painted; removes dirt; scales, rust, old paint, grease, and other materials; scrapes and sands.
Applies paint to interiors and exteriors of buildings, and other furniture and equipment as well; uses spray gun and brushes. Cleans brushes and spray guns and makes minor repairs to equipment and apparatus.
Replaces defective light bulbs throughout a large building; cuts, treads and bends conduit pipe to sizes and lengths, replaces burned out fuses.
Make general repairs to wood fixtures, ladders, frames; install door locks, hinges, self brackets and other hardware.
Operates power and manual tools to cut, fit, assemble and erect wooden objects and structures.
Repair refrigeration equipment.
Unstops sinks, toilets, hand basins, sewer lines.
Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
