Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Manager for its Adult Medicine department. The Nurse Manager provides support to the team of medical staff and professional nursing care to our adult patient population in accordance with health center established standards and practices.
The successful candidate will :
- Have a deep knowledge of nursing theory and practice coupled with a record of providing high quality, comprehensive, professional nursing care to patients according to established standards, protocols and practices.
- Seven (7) years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute or outpatient setting
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in an acute or outpatient setting
- Possess the ability to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population in a collaborative environment.
- Have experience assessing clinical competency, particularly in the area of waived testing and related quality control procedures and the handling and administration of medications
- Be able to demonstrate previous success, as part of a clinical team, enhancing the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of care through both the performance of professional nursing responsibilities and the delegation of technical and clerical functions as appropriate to medical assistants.
- Have prior experience in patient education efforts regarding preventive and episodic health care issues.
- Possess the organizational skills to manage competing priorities within the department, including, managing nursing and medical assistant scheduling; in collaboration with providers, triaging patients who present in person and by phone; reviewing provider schedules and correcting obstacles that might impede optimal productivity; overseeing the proper logging and reporting of infectious diseases; and maintaining inventory of medical supplies.
- Be willing and able to engage in leadership level discussions around organizational and departmental clinical and operational policies and procedures.
- Be willing to be held accountable and to hold others accountable for providing superior clinical care.
- Be willing to perform other duties as assigned.
- A BSN and 1-2 years' experience working in an ambulatory setting is preferred.
