Community Health Services, Inc. is seeking experienced a Certified Medical Assistant for a full time, 40-hour opportunity in our Adult Medicine Department. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Certified Medical Assistant is an integral part of the care team, providing excellent patient care and contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of individual patient visits as well as to improved population health.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a Medical Assistant Certification from a national certifying body (e.g. AAMA, NCCT, NHA, AMT).
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have at least two years of successful medical assisting experience in a healthcare setting
- Have experience assisting with office-based procedures
- Have demonstrated success delivering high quality patient care, including taking vital signs, appropriately collecting and handling specimens, and performing in-office laboratory and diagnostic tests consistent with competency level
- Have proven success handling confidential information
- Be comfortable with or be able quickly to learn electronic practice management systems
- Be able to produce high quality work efficiently and in an environment with changing priorities
- Have a resourceful, collaborative, customer service-oriented approach and the willingness to be accountable
- Demonstrate the ability to foster and maintain positive, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical staff
- Demonstrate alignment with CHS Core Values and a high level of personal accountability
Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English are strongly preferred.
Candidates with experience working in a multiple provider medical practice with diverse socio-economically diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
