Job description: IT Technical Support Level I
Purpose of Position:
The IT Support Technician I will utilize their technical knowledge to provide IT support to agency employees and support the activities of the IT Support Tech II and IT Lead. This position is responsible for completing assigned work requests, assisting the IT staff with maintaining the technology of the organization, and performing equipment installs and maintenance items.
Essential Functions:
- Complete equipment installs, moves, etc. under the direction of the IT Lead
- Complete assigned tickets in a timely manner, while ensuring continuous communication with ticket owner until closed.
- Provide on-site IT support for employees as assigned
- Assist IT Support Lead in performing preventative hardware and software maintenance as required to ensure continuous operations to the highest extent possible.
- Perform monitoring and maintenance on systems, under the direction of the IT Lead
- Perform installation and configuration of Agency computer systems and networking components
- Assist IT Support Lead with the management of network connectivity throughout the Agency.
- Must be highly available and responsive to requests, including on-call time as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by the IT Support Lead or IT Director.
- This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services.
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 8am - 5pm
- 8-hour shift
(Must have flexibility to work before or after-hours as needed)
Job Type: Full-time
General Qualification and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a solid technical understanding of computer systems, networking, client/server applications, etc.
- Must be able to think critically and troubleshoot problems utilizing all available resources.
- Able to work individually and in groups.
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to travel between agency local sites on a regular basis as required.
