Job Title: Courier

Summary
CHWP’s Courier supports the mission, vision, and values of the health center by providing pharmaceutical delivery services to the community. The Courier will be responsible for delivering Prescription Medication to CHWP sites or public residences throughout a two-county area, i.e., Logan and Champaign Counties. The Courier will maintain a safe driving record and follow all federal, state, and local driving laws, rules, and regulations. The Courier will ensure pharmacy regulations are followed by following CHWP policy and direction from the Community Pharmacist. The driver will ensure that their vehicle is properly always maintained and safe for use, including general vehicle maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness to allow for reliable and professional services.

- Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and appropriate related recordkeeping and administrative functions as assigned.
Operational Excellence
- Understand and ensure all practices and procedures related to the delivery of prescription medications are consistent with protocols and procedures.
Relationship Management
- Develop and ensure favorable relationships with all who utilize the delivery service. Conduct self in a caring and professional manner.
- Develop and ensure ongoing, positive relationships and collaboration with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, administrative and clinical staff. Ensure the success of the pharmacy courier services through collaborative support and working relationships with all operations staff.
Professionalism & Stewardship
- Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
- Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.
Primary Tasks and Duties
- Review and plan routes in advance of Community Health & Wellness deliveries.
- Operate in a safe manner which complies with federal, state, and local laws.
- Monitor weather patterns of National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to ensure personal safety and safety of those receiving deliveries.
- Ensure safety during delivery, including safe entry, parking, and exit, and receipt of prescriptions.
- Maintain integrity of prescription transportation containers.
- Ensure proper documentation of prescription delivery workflows.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic records of mileage, pre- and post-trip forms, or any other required logs.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs any additional duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned, as needed.
Essential Duties and Key Competencies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Demonstrate safe driving practices

- Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
- Reliable and punctual
- Sound knowledge of road and traffic laws and upholds these laws, following all state and national safety regulations and standards. Accurately able to follow verbal directions and ability to utilize navigational maps, GPS systems and vehicle manuals.
- Ability to utilize provided tools such as mobile phone and iPad.
- Organized and able to follow a schedule and to adapt to changing schedules or routines
- Able to work evenings and Saturday, if needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to implement and evaluate operational and administrative processes.
- Participate in aspects related quality compliance, improvement, and risk management for a community health center.
- Engage in certification projects, i.e. The Joint Commission, HRSA
- Engage in all corporate compliance requirements of Community Health & Wellness Partners
- Report expected NOAA weather changes, watches, or warnings to direct supervisor prior to engaging in delivery route when possible and follow directives accordingly.
- Seek indoor shelter when faced with an unexpected severe weather-related emergency.
- Respond to an unexpected community disaster as directed by supervisor.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics are those for a normal office delivery environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work may require occasional Saturday and/or evening hours.
Work hours
As needed, Part-time, non-exempt hourly position. Generally, an 8-20-hour work week is required; hours are subject to change. Hours vary by delivery schedule, but are usually 8:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays and after business hours work may be required. Assigned trainings as required.
Wages
Starting wages for Pharmacy Courier will be negotiable based on Community Health & Wellness Partners pay policies and factors such as education and experience, national and state average compensation recommendations based on location and region.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Highschool diploma
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record
Experience:
- Previous professional experience driving preferred; training may be provided
- Healthcare experience preferred
