What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Assistant position at Community Healthcare System?
Under the supervision of an RN and according to established practices and procedures, the Unit Assistant facilitates the provision of patient care by performing specific tasks and support functions as delegated by the staff RN and or LPN.
Requirements:
The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level course work or equivalent required.
The verbal communication skill necessary to effectively communicate with medical staff, visitors, patients,and all levels of Hospital personnel that may include times of sensitive situations.
Knowledge and or experience equivalent to that acquired through Unit Secretary, Medical Assistant, MA and or Healthcare profession courses preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of electronic medical record system
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Current BLS provider
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served
Previous work experience with medical terminology or completion of medical terminology course preferred.
Six month to one year clerical experience required.
Employment Type: Part-time (Benefit Eligible) Shift: Days/Evenings Hours: Primarily 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p, rotating weekends and holidays
