What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Community High School District 155?
Community High School District 155 is looking for substitute teachers to join our team.
Ideal candidates should have their substitute license or PEL, registered in McHenry County (ROE#44).
Substitute Teacher pay will be calculated as follows:
There will no longer be full-day or 1/2 day assignments and pay. It will be based on the number of periods that you have student contact time. Student contact time includes periods in which courses are taught and assigned teacher supervision periods but does not include teacher plan time or lunch period. A typical teacher schedule includes 5 course periods and 1 assigned supervision for a total of 6 periods of coverage during a 9-period school day.
Daily Substitute (not Long-term substitute)
$22 per period of student contact
Long-term Substitute (Expected to be 10 or more days, includes lesson planning, grading, etc.)
$28.50 per period of student contact
Please note that there may be substitute openings that require less or more than 6 periods of coverage. In those instances, pay will be based on the number of course or supervision periods that are covered. (Ex. If only 2 course periods are covered on a given day, pay would be 2x$22, or $44 for that assignment. Likewise, if coverage is needed for 7 periods, pay would be 7x$22, or $154 for that assignment.)
Periodically, we find out later in the day that we have additional teacher periods needing to be covered. If you are already onsite subbing, you may be asked to "pick up" additional periods if they fit into your schedule. You would receive the additional teacher pay for those additional periods as well. If those additional periods are to sub for a paraprofessional, the per-period rate of $16.15 for paraprofessional substitution would apply.
The District will pay 1/2 of the TRS deductions.
