Description
Oklahoma Technical College seeking an Electrical Technology Instructor- Substitute! The Electrical Program prepares students for entry-level employment as technicians in the design, operation, service, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment. The Program combines theory with practical hands-on training. Must hold a Journeyman's license with a minimum of three years of recent electrical experience, with an emphasis on Construction, prior teaching experience a plus. Instructors are responsible for sound educational practices and the academic development of each student, instructors will manage the classroom environment, and promote a positive and engaging learning experience. Substitute instructors will be trained to fill in during an instructor's absence as needed. Licensed by OBPVS.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A valid Oklahoma Journeyman’s License or Unlimited Electrical Contractor License is a compliance requirement
- A minimum of three years’ verifiable electrician field experience with an emphasis on construction electrical is required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical college teaching experience preferred
- A diploma in the Electrical Technology field is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods either sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing in a classroom or lab environment.
- Ability to navigate to and walk around all areas of the college campuses, including stairs.
- Ability to sit, stoop, bend, lie on their back, and work overhead. They will be required to be on their feet for most of the instructional period to best monitor student work and behaviors in open and enclosed work areas. The individual is required to lift 50 pounds from the floor to standard working height and return on a regular basis, and have the ability to move equipment that is several hundred pounds.
