What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Community Hope, Inc.?
A non-exempt position that assists the Human Resources Assistant Director with the administration of a variety of human resources functions in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and programs. Supports day to day operations of the HR functions and serves as the point of contact for payroll, benefits, and employee relations matters. This individual partners with the Director and CPE team to implement HR strategic initiatives which will contribute to the overall experience of employees. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payroll and compensation, employee relations, benefits, organizational development, and provides a variety of clerical and administrative support services.
- Implement and monitor all personnel and department policies, while identifying and developing any necessary variation to serve organizational goals.
- Advise employees on matters of policy & procedure, benefits program, and other HR related inquiries.
- Investigate grievances brought forward by employees and handle employee relation issues
- Participate and assist in employee new hire training, orientation, onboarding and benefits enrollment.
- As needed assist with processing bi-weekly payroll.
- Manage and maintain employee database, personnel and payroll files, prepare reports and metrics as needed.
- Process employee change of status including hiring, transfers, wage changes, and separation.
- Administrator and be the main contact for inquiries regarding employee benefits programs.
- Creates a welcoming environment for new hires and participates in onboarding activities.
- Creates employee engagement plans, seeks necessary budget approval and initiates activities.
- Monitor employee morale and company culture. Event planning for employee related functions and meetings.
- Follows appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances.
- Conducts exit interviews and post-employment communication.
- Assists with in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent preferred but not required; two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; work experience will be strongly considered.
- 5 years of Human Resources experiences, preferred in nonprofit social service setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, and knowledge of payroll, and HRIS system
- SHRM-CP certification preferred
