Community Horizons is assisting a family in recruiting the perfect caregiver for their middle-aged son. This member is in search of someone attentive, reliable, consistent, has a great sense of humor, and a caregiver who can be interactive even though the person they are caring for is nonverbal.
Wage: $16.32 – $17.00 / hour based on level of experience.
Hours
· Usual caregiving hours within the home are 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (12-hour shifts) however this member is willing to do shorter shifts if desired.
· No guaranteed hours are available due to this being a pick-up shift position
· We would be happy to discuss your hours of availability
Tasks Include but are not limited to:
· Personal Cares
· Repositioning, transfers, range of motion
· Other activities of daily living too include some skilled services
· Getting out into the community occasionally even if it is a stroll outdoors
Ideal Candidate:
· Willingness to learn the specific needs of this member. Training is provided.
· Has 1 year of professional experience in healthcare-related field
· Is familiar with the needs of someone with a brain injury and seizure disorder
· Willingness to learn:
pump tube feeding, O2, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, ceiling lift, wheelchair safety, SPT Vest, and sponge baths.
· Has a reliable form of transportation to get to work
Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organization or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them. Community Horizons is not the employer on record, members make all hiring decisions with the involvement of a third-party fiscal agent responsible for payroll.
