Community Horizons is seeking qualified caregivers to support an individual with a disability in her private residence in a lovely neighborhood in Waupun.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 7-3p, Every other weekend
Wage overview:
The hourly rate for this position is $17.32
weekend incentive bonus: $19.32
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Independent use of a Hoyer lift
- Assisting with personal care tasks (hygiene, bathing, toileting, hair and nail care, etc.)
- Repositioning as needed or requested
- Meal preparation
- Providing physical assistance with eating and drinking
- Medication assistance
- Light housekeeping (laundry, sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, linen changes, etc.)
- Assisting with errands as requested
- Other tasks as needed
Qualifications for this position include:
- Honesty and dependability
- Physical capability to meet the needs of a quadriplegic individual
- Experience as a caregiver or a strong willingness to learn
- Respectfulness
- Affection for animals; a pet-friendly environment (cats, dogs, and fish) is preferred
- Professional presentation
- Willingness to wear a mask if necessary
- Residence within 10-15 minutes of Waupun
- Openness to learning effective communication techniques
- Quick adaptability and eagerness to learn
- Desire for long-term employment commitment
Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organizations or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them. Community Horizons is not the employer on record, members make all hiring decisions with the involvement of a third-party fiscal agent responsible for payroll.
