A man in the community, who can't move from the neck down, needs friendly part-time caregivers. He needs some support with things like taking showers, getting dressed, shaving, brushing his teeth, and moving in and out of his chair using a special lift. Are you interested in lending a helping hand?
Community Horizons is excited to help find a private caregiver to join a caring team at home. In this rewarding job, you will provide important help with personal care and some light household tasks. Your support will be key in helping this person enjoy their independence at home.
This position is part of a self-direction program, meaning you'll work directly for the individual you’re helping. This setup gives you more flexibility with your hours and allows for a closer, more personal relationship because the person you’ll be assisting will hire you directly, skipping the agency.
**Schedule:**
- **Mornings:** 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, Sunday through Saturday, with an extra 15 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- **Lunch:** 12 PM – 1 PM, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday.
**Pay:**
- $20/hour (you’ll earn double on holidays as a thank you for your hard work!)
**Tasks:**
- Learn to use the Hoyer lift—don’t worry if you’re not familiar; we’ll show you!
- Help with dressing and personal care to brighten their day.
- Enjoy refreshing morning showers together.
- Cook and share delicious meals for some enjoyable moments.
- Do light cleaning to keep the home comfortable and tidy.
**Requirements:**
- You should be at least 18 years old.
- A driver’s license and a dependable way to get around are needed.
- A genuine interest in helping others.
- Being friendly and reliable is very important!
- Experience as a CNA is great, but it’s not a must.
- A background check will be conducted.
