Special Needs Caregiver (12-hour shifts)
Do you enjoy working 1:1 with someone in their own home? Do you enjoy making someone smile? If so, please consider sharing your caregiving experience by taking care of a wonderful middle-aged gentleman in his Wisconsin Rapids home.
Community Horizons is assisting a family in recruiting the perfect caregiver for their son. This member is in search of someone attentive, reliable, consistent, has a great sense of humor, and can be interactive even though the person they are caring for is nonverbal.
Wage: $16.32 – $17.00 / hour based on level of experience.
Hours
· 12-hour shifts from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (12-hour shifts)
· Days of need are being evaluated at this time. We can discuss your availability.
· Hours of need may include weekends and overnights as needed for vacation coverage in the future
Tasks Include but are not limited to:
· Personal Cares
· Showering
· Repositioning, transfers, range of motion
· Other activities of daily living to include some skilled services
· Getting out into the community occasionally even if it is a stroll outdoors or visiting a local store
Ideal Candidate:
· Has 1 year of professional experience in healthcare-related field
· Is familiar with the needs of someone with a brain injury and seizure disorder
· Familiar with or willingness to learn:
· pump tube feeding, O2, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, ceiling lift, wheelchair safety, SPT Vest, and sponge baths. Training is available for the right applicant
· Has a reliable form of transportation to get to work
· Favorable Caregiver Background Check
Community Horizons offers support for individuals enrolled in self-directed programs through Managed Care Organization or IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) throughout Wisconsin. Self-direction gives program participants the choice over who provides services and how they receive them.
