Responsibilities:
- Professional knowledge of the breastfeeding process, antepartum and postpartum health care, and psychosocial issues. Knowledge of breastfeeding from the newborns through toddler ages
- Current BLS
- Current International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) or Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC).
Requirements:
- Facilitates breastfeeding support daily for mother-infant breastfeeding dyad.
- Facilitates breastfeeding support for postpartum clients in coordination with Pediatricians/OB providers
- Conducts competency-based employee training on infant feeding appropriate to the department's practice.
- Promotes breastfeeding and assists mothers in reaching their own breastfeeding goals.
- Communicates with Pediatricians, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and OB providers to improve lactation support for clients who elect to breastfeed.
- Facilitates prenatal and breastfeeding classes as needed.
- Participates in prenatal education events to promote breastfeeding support to Birth Place patients.
- Willingness to work a flexible day shift schedule that includes weekends.
Compensation:
- $37.00 - $42.55 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
