What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler II, Full-Time position at Community Hospital?
Responsibilities:
Team: Lead a team of Scheduler I’s by foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and mutual support among staff members. As a Scheduler II you are responsible for training, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Ensure the team meets productivity and quality standards.
Scheduling Management: Oversee the scheduling process for patient appointments, procedures, surgeries, and other medical services, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and efficient patient flow. Monitor scheduling activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Address scheduling conflicts, discrepancies, and challenges in a proactive and timely manner, working closely with healthcare professionals and departmental managers to resolve issues.
Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the team and with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies. Address and resolve issues, questions, or concerns related to Scheduling.
Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and support to team members, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required for their roles. Stay informed about changes in regulations and insurance policies and share this information with the team.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of Scheduling requests and outcomes. Generate reports to track performance metrics and compliance.
Compliance: Ensure that the team adheres to all relevant healthcare regulations and maintains the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality in their work.
Problem Solving: Assist in resolving complex cases, denials, or escalated issues that may require a higher level of expertise.
Policy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and update Scheduling policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in a healthcare-related field preferred or equivalent education and experience
- (2-3) years experience as a Scheduling specialist preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with relevant software and tools used in the Scheduling process.
Compensation:
- $21.00 - $24.15 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
