What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Specialist - FHARPS position at Community House Mental Health Agency?
Job Title: FHARPS Certified Peer Counselor FLSA: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $30.00 - $36.47 per hour
Supervisor: Program Supervisor
Here at Community House Mental Health Agency, we strive to provide a supportive family atmosphere in Seattle and King County for people with severe and persistent mental illness. Each person who walks through our door has a unique story, and we believe that everyone deserves to feel welcomed and valued.
Within our Diversion Services program is the Forensic Housing and Recovery through Peer Services, better known as our FHARPS team. FHARPS is a forensic housing program that complements our other (3) Diversion Programs – OCRP, FPATH & LINC. They will work to house people involved in the legal system with the goal of reducing recidivism of people cycling in and out of incarceration, working especially with Trueblood class members. FHARPS works closely with Forensic Navigators who are officers of the King County Court system.
Our Diversion Services here at CHMHA has a fantastic opening for an FHARPS Certified Peer Counselor.
Our Certified Peer Counselor will serve as an advocate and provide peer support services to individuals in our community who have been deemed not competent to stand trial. This program works closely with the Health Care Authority as well as DSHS Forensic Navigators in regaining control over their own lives and over their own recovery process. The Certified Peer Counselor will model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills.
At Community House, we value a strong work-life balance and aim to provide the best support for our workers. As a CHMHA employee, you will have access to a range of unique benefits, such as company-paid medical/dental/vision/disability insurance, a 403B retirement plan with employer match, continuing education credit, a personal unlimited ORCA card, and an employee assistance program with financial, mental, and legal assistance.
