Our Residential program here at CHMHA has an outstanding opportunity for a Residential Medications Lead.
The Residential Medications Lead works collaboratively with stakeholders on developing a consistent, effective, and safe Medication Management program across all four of our licensed residential programs in cooperation with the Medical Services Supervisor and Director of Licensed Residential Services. This position is responsible for executing next steps as identified by workgroup leadership, including collecting and synthesizing information, supporting on-site staff based on current and changing policies and procedures, assisting with the development of the new Medication Management program and trainings, and supporting manual processes within BlueStep and supporting applications.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist key leadership group in assigned work to continue to develop Medication Management program reflective of HIPAA, WAC, and CMS requirements
- Collaborate with programs to understand current processes and assemble this information in a clear and understandable way for workgroup
- Facilitate exchange of information between program leadership and staff, workgroup, and other assigned stakeholders
- Provide direct assistance for scanning and uploading documents into the EMR
- Lead medication training and/or coordination of training for all residential staff
- Implement and maintain standard practices across all Residential sites and medication rooms for all medication passing, storage, disposal, and other related tasks in coordination with the Medical Services Supervisor
- Assist in managing Medication Errors process and other quality assurance tasks in collaboration with Director of Medical Services and Quality
- Ensure all interactions represent the five principles of trauma-informed care, including safety, choice, trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment
- Practice good financial stewardship of agency and contract resources, including how time is being spent, supplies are used, property is being maintained, etc.
- Meet identified key performance indicators and metrics for the position as identified for the program, division, and agency
- Maintain productive working relationships with other staff to ensure efficient and seamless coordination of client care and business needs
- Attend all scheduled meetings and supervisions
- Always maintain client and staff confidentiality
- When necessary, supervise medication windows to ensure the seven rights of medication use are followed: right person, right medication, right time, right dose, right route, right reason (including refusal), and right documentation according to agency provided medication training
- When necessary, complete daily documentation in electronic medical record on resident interactions, medications dispensed when assigned, and other required documentation, ensuring an interaction and subsequent documentation are completed for all residents across the team
- Provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed
- Always maintain resident and staff confidentiality
- Performing other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with medication monitoring or administration in a residential setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successfully pass criminal background check before hire date
- Obtain/maintain valid First Aid/CPR card or certificate within 30 days of hire
- Have legible handwriting and ability to do simple mathematics
- Experience and ability to work within Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Able to navigate and comprehend charts in electronic medical record
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Able to perform duties outlined above within reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness
- Experience training or supervising individuals
