Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Handler to join our team at the Wading River location. As a Food Handler, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to clients in an emergency housing setting. Your tasks will include:
- Packaging and preparing meals for distribution.
- Receiving and unloading food deliveries.
- Assisting with ordering food from vendors and advising the Program Manager on needs.
- Cleaning the work area after each meal distribution.
- Recording meal counts and submitting statistics to the Program Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A Current New York State Food Handlers Certificate (preferred).
- One to two years of experience working in a food service environment (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to relate to underserved populations and work independently or as part of a team.
