Housing Resources Manager
Department: Housing Resources
Reports to: Director of Housing Resources
Employment Status Classification: Full-Time Salary, Exempt
Salary Range: $43,680.00 - $49,920.00 per year
Job Description Summary:
The Housing Resources Manager will report directly to the Director of Housing Resource. In this position the Housing Resources Manager will work closely with the Director to monitor quality of service provisions of programs and streamline systems for efficiency. This position is also interrelated to a variety of other departments and programs throughout the organization providing technical assistance to CHN staff.
This individual will work closely with all community programs staff, ensuring fully trained and proficient in their job duties. The Housing Resources Manager will also be an integral component in helping to develop a network of programs, services and assistance that will allow the organization to leverage resources to meet the needs of program participants in need of housing and other supports.
In specific funding streams, the Manager may also serve as the immediate supervisor of team members based on grants and funding allocations, as specified by the Director and the grant terms.
Essential Functions:
- Provide housing technical assistance to program participants, community programs staff, stakeholders, service providers and community partners as requested. This will include case management services directly to participants.
- Provide daily supervision for designated Housing Resources team members as specified by grant funding and parameters. Additionally, provide supplemental supervision and guidance to other team members under the Housing Resources Department as needed.
- Contribute to resource material for use in the Housing Resource Center. This material includes the Call Center Tools, Housing Planning Library and other materials as requested.
- Work directly with Housing Resource Center staff and Housing Counseling staff to respond to program participant and community partner needs, identify staff to attend community outreach locations and events, and provide guidance and support in regard to resources and calls in Oakland and Macomb County.
- Assist and train staff in requirements per grants and maintain a tracking system for these training courses.
- Assist and train staff in database requirements. Monitor data quality and service provision for grants in this department for funder-required outcomes and reports as requested.
- Develop forms, workflows, presentations, and workshops for grant specified activities as requested by the Director.
- Assist in identifying needs to improve quality and funding opportunities for the Housing Resources Department.
- Monitor spending on financial assistance lines per grant, work closely with the Director to manage budgets.
- Participate in community-based activities when appropriate, representing Community Housing Network at community forums, serve on workgroups as needed at Continuum of Care (CoC) level as well as statewide initiatives including groups that focus on coordinated entry and outreach efforts. This will require evening and weekend hours.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director and the Executive Leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, social work, or business field and five years of human services experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Areas of expertise as demonstrated by either licensure in social work, real estate, and housing specific training, or equivalents, are preferred.
- Supervisory experience with strong skills in program oversight and grant policy and procedures with solid writing skills to compile information in a concise manner.
- Possess proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Products. Working knowledge of the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and/or the Housing Counseling database system is desired.
- Experience working with and can communicate with individuals experiencing recovery and are precariously housed is preferred.
- Strong ability to represent the interests of CHN, interact effectively with a diverse population, and be comfortable building successful collaborative relationships with program participants, staff, interns, and with community partners.
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile coverage limits minimum: Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence Property Damage $100,000 each occurrence.
Travel:
Travel is required within the communities served. This is a driving position, driving required daily and mileage is reimbursed per company policy.
CHN reserves the right to require a motor vehicle record check with respect to any employee where driving is an essential function of the position.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This position requires the ability to work Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm in Oakland County and/or Macomb County and the ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
- A minimum of 3 days weekly is required in the office.
- To work from home with pre-approval, the candidate must have a home office that allows for privacy and a strong internet service.
- Requires the ability to be active, including walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting.
