Bridge Housing Coordinator
Job Classification: Exempt Rate: $45,000 annually benefits
Position Overview
The Bridge Housing Coordinator advances the Mission and Values of Community Human Services (CHS) by building, fostering, and inspiring excellence in the Agency’s ability to:
- Serve as the leading resource for homeless support, information, and best practices and protocols in Southwestern PA for the persons served
- Maintain a comprehensive and up to date list of apartment/unit availability
- Perform inspections (or request inspection from third party) on potential apartments and assure the drafting of valid and truthful leases
- Network with landlords and property managers for potential housing units through events, association meetings, cold calls, and other appropriate communication methods
- Provide exceptional and compassionate social support services through housing and resource education
- Conduct Fair Market Rent and Rent Reasonableness assessments.
- Integrate the voice of consumers with program quality initiatives and services
- Collaborate with and act as a resource for landlords, providers and other organizations serving participants
- Embrace and exhibit the highest ethical standards

- Eliminate the devastating impact of stigma through cultural awareness and advocacy
The Bridge Housing Coordinator embodies and represents CHS guiding principles to multiple audiences, consumers, and constituents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and oversight of housing resources and programming related to the Bridge Housing Program
- Collaborates with Bridge Housing Program team members to assist participants in accomplishing goals and identifying barriers outlined in an Individualized Service Plan.
- Coordinates rental unit viewing appointments with participants and their Bridge Housing Program team members from verified and inspected housing leads
- Engages with local property owners and property management entities to promote positive community connections and increase housing opportunities for participants
- Communicates with the program manager, as well as with service providers, regulating agencies, consultants, etc. as assigned by the program manager.
- Supports program compliance with laws/regulations from licensing or monitoring bodies.
- Generate reports for monitoring/invoicing, including all billing requirements
- Tracks data within multiple systems and partner service programs as assigned by the program manager.
- Develop a professional and therapeutic relationship with participants of the program while maintaining and modeling appropriate personal boundaries.

Internal candidates must have completed their first 90 days and at least one of the following: a bachelor’s degree, professional experience, OR life experience. External applicants are required to have at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a social service organization. Act 34 Criminal, Act 33 Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal clearances.
Position Physical Demands
The Bridge Housing Coordinator will be called upon to engage in physical activity related to general office work, including the capacity to lift to 15lbs and stand or sit for extended periods.
