As a Marketing Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of local businesses (including Community Impact) by developing strategic, visually compelling campaigns that drive engagement and results. You’ll collaborate with our sales team, storytellers, support members, leaders as well as external customers to brainstorm, execute, problem solve and celebrate wins.

About Community Impact
Owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the first edition of Community Impact in 2005 with a mission to build communities of informed citizens and thriving businesses through the collaboration of a passionate team. Today, we reach millions of Texas residents through daily online updates and monthly direct mail editions.

The Role: Marketing Designer
As a Marketing Designer, your role extends beyond traditional graphic ad design; additionally it requires a deep understanding of marketing principles and psychology, data analysis and trends, and overall customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute multi-platform marketing campaigns with strategy, innovation, timeliness, and accuracy.
Work through a fast-paced queue to produce high-quality marketing materials with minimal revisions.
Engage with internal and external clients to understand needs, answer questions, present ideas and/or overcome hurdles to prove return on investment.
Train and educate sales team members on marketing best practices, ensuring they can better guide clients.
Balance priorities across customer orders, emails, meetings, and all assigned projects.
Stay up-to-date on marketing trends, data analytics, and design best practices to continually improve results.
Represent Community Impact with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to making a difference in local communities.
Travel is as-needed

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related coursework
At least one (1) year of prior experience in graphic design, working directly with customers on advertising or relevant marketing campaigns
Proficient using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro
Experience with file preparation for CMYK output
Familiarity working within corporate brand guidelines
Ability to learn industry, project management and presentation software, for example Font Management, CRM, and slideshow tools
Experience with Mac, Google Suite and Microsoft Office
Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including meticulous attention to detail (spelling, grammar, messaging flow)
Successful completion of CI’s design and presentation assessment during the interview process
Valid driver’s license, motorist insurance, and own transportation, with the ability to occasionally travel to customer locations within Texas as needed
Preferred qualifications:
Experience producing multimedia ad campaigns
Experience with a CRM
Experience working with C-suite level executives
Openness to using AI technology to help with everyday activities or responsibilities
