Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients in various settings, including clients' homes and multiple home settings. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support mobility by helping clients move around safely within their environment.
- Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Help clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health regimens.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as Level I Trauma Centers, Level II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, or outpatient clinics.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and their families.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments such as inpatient care settings or emergency departments.
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and practices is preferred.
- Experience in pediatric intensive care units (PICU) or hospital medicine is a plus.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs across different healthcare environments.
