Description

This is a direct support position, aimed to assist the people we support with understanding the impact of work on their public benefits including SSA, Medicare, Medicaid, and any additional benefits received. The goal is to provide participants with information allowing them to make an informed decision regarding the amount of work and earnings preferred.
Brief Summary of Job Duties : To note, this is not an exhaustive list; this is just an overview to offer context to the role.
- Independently manage a Benefits Counseling caseload with participants authorized for the service
- Assist participants with navigating SSA and other governmental benefits with regards to working
- Write reports for participants overviewing their benefits situation and changes to benefits based on income
- Identify and develop work incentives working with SSA and participants
- Problem solve when issues or concerns arise that revolve around SSA and other governmental benefits
- Assist and teach participants to report earnings to SSA in a timely manner
- Communicate in writing and verbally with internal and external team members who are involved in participants support
- Maintain accurate daily case notes, logs, and files for each participant as it relates to their benefits
- Provide job coaching services and train other job coaches as needed.
