TITLE: Medical Coordinator Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Federal Way, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager/Medical Coordinator
SUMMARY: Provide support coordination to clients related to medical, dental, mental health, hygiene, and health and safety needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Schedule and confirm client appointments, manage appointment calendars, and send reminders.
? Ensure client medical documentation is completed accurately and filed properly.
? Maintain accurate client/patient records, electronically or paper-based, including updating medical history and test results.
? Track and review medical encounter forms, follow up on client medical needs as necessary and required by applicable state laws and policies.
? Act as CIS professional contact for formal supports related to client’s pharmacy, medication, delegation, and hospice needs.
? Communicate medical needs and changes with House Program Managers regarding their assigned clients.
? Assist with maintaining and tracking DSP Nurse Delegated credentials, as well as scheduling Nurse Delegation classes.
? Participate in the training of new and delegated DSPs related to documentation on the Medical Administration Records (MARs) and other medically necessary tracking forms.
? Attend client medication reviews as needed.
? Assist with updating client medication consent and refusal forms as needed
? May be asked to pick-up and drop off medications to clients and DSPs at the client houses.
? Assignments involve work of a confidential or complex nature, necessitating exposure to sensitive information and contacts requiring considerable discretion, judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
? Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
? High school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills, proficiency with basic office software, and ideally some prior experience working in a medical office, including knowledge of medical terminology, patient scheduling, and electronic health records (EHR) systems; a medical assistant certification is beneficial. Any combination of experience may be considered. Must be highly organized, excellent written and verbal skills, flexible, service oriented, and professional. Demonstrated proficiency in the fundamental concepts, principals, and practices related to working with behaviorally challenged I/DD adults.
Salary : $21 - $24
