The Employment Specialist works as an outside salesperson that solicits prospective employers to develop jobs for participants of our Supported Employment program, which provide support and training for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Are you the Employment Specialist we're looking for?
To excel as an Employment Specialist at Community Interface Services, you will need a strong ability to build community relationships and network effectively with employers. Understanding the unique interests and skills of our participants is essential, as it enables you to identify the best job placements that align with their passions and strengths. Flexibility is also a crucial skill, allowing you to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the nonprofit social services sector and respond to diverse employer needs. Proficiency in relevant software and tools will enhance your ability to manage relationships and streamline the job placement process. This combination of interpersonal skills and adaptability will ensure your success in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve meaningful employment. This position will be based out of our Vista office, but the work takes you all over San Diego County. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Ability to build relationships and network
- Previous outside sales experience; cold calling and prospecting skills
- Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
- Understanding the interests and skills of our participants to find the best job placement
- High School Diploma, bachelor's degree preferred
- Vehicle and CA driver's licenserequiredfor this role
- Auto insurance and 2 years driving experience
