Position Overview: As a Corporate/Real Estate Attorney, you will provide legal counsel and support in matters related to corporate governance, real estate transactions, and business law. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while managing complex legal issues across various business sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, real estate transactions, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate corporate contracts, including purchase agreements, leases, and joint venture agreements.
Provide legal advice on corporate governance matters, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
Handle real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development projects.
Conduct due diligence and manage legal aspects of real estate transactions.
Advise on zoning, land use, and compliance issues related to real estate development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and development, to support business initiatives.
Stay current on legal trends, changes in laws and regulations affecting the real estate and corporate sectors.
Manage relationships with external counsel, when applicable, and provide strategic legal guidance to senior management.
Qualifications:
Active bar membership in Virginia or the jurisdiction of employment.
years of experience in corporate and real estate law, including experience with transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, and land use.
Strong knowledge of real estate law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle complex legal matters efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in-house at a private company.
Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
Commercial real estate leasing and finance experience.
