Part-Time Accounting Assistant (Worcester)

Community Legal Aid (CLA) is the non-profit legal services program providing free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of central and western Massachusetts. CLA has over 180 dedicated, talented staff working across multiple offices, and a budget of over $25 million.

CLA seeks a talented individual to join our team as a part-time Accounting Assistant working out of our Worcester office at least three days each week. The person will provide day-to-day support to the Fiscal Department in a variety of areas. The person will focus on duties related to accounts payable and other administrative tasks as assigned.

QUALIFCATIONS :

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• Prior accounting experience required.
• Comfortable with technology and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Applications, including Excel. Experience with Financial Edge NXT a plus.
• Must be patient and flexible, organized, and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet competing deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships and work as a member of a team.
• Experience in the nonprofit sector a plus.

COMPENSATION : The pay range is $30 to $40 an hour, depending on experience. CLA offers a very generous benefits package that includes 401(k) with employer-paid contribution; low-cost health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) for employees and their dependents; and generous paid leave.
