Job Overview
The Community Relations Director plays a pivotal role in fostering relationships between Community Living Alternatives, Inc. (CLA), a non-profit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the community it serves. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that meet agency expansion goals while enhancing the organization's visibility and engagement within the community. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for community engagement, capable of leveraging various platforms to promote the organization’s mission and values. The candidate's demonstrated campaigns will result in growth in residential and day program admissions, increased fundraising and donor expansion, and leveraging new services that optimize the existing CLA business model.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Administrative Team and Board of Directors to develop a marketing plan and annual budget.
- Act as a community liaison to foster relationships by organizing and leading public speaking events.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to include fundraising events and donor outreach.
- Execute public and social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and community engagement.
- Oversee the agency website and newsletter.
- Oversee all agency marketing materials.
- Assist in the development and expansion of services to meet the goals of the agency.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
- Minimum of three years of proven experience in marketing or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of social media marketing strategies and tools and commitment to stay current on the latest platform tools and technologies.
- Proficient with web content management platforms including WordPress.
- Ability to manage a mass e-mail campaign.
- Effective media relations skills to manage communications with local press outlets.
- Exceptional public speaking abilities, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Current contacts within the intellectual and developmental disabilities systems is a plus.
