Duties of a Scheduling Specialist
At Community Living of Rhode Island Incorporated (CLRI), we understand that time is precious; hence, we seek an experienced scheduling specialist to join our team and help us make the most of every minute. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and experience managing complex employees’ schedules. The Scheduling Specialist must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to think instantaneously. The Scheduling Specialist must be able to effectively communicate with diversified employees at all levels, customers, and vendors. The scheduling specialist will be a part of the CLRI scheduling team responsible for creating and maintaining the Agency schedules in line with the Agency's policies and procedures.
The Scheduling specialists will need the following skills to be successful on the job:
Time management – to help prioritize the tasks and meet deadlines. Can also use time management skills to ensure the completion of all project steps in the correct order.
Communication: Ability to communicate with various employees, including participants, vendors, customers, coworkers, managers, coordinators, directors, and senior management. The scheduling specialist must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally. He or she also must use communication to relay information about employees and their schedules.
Problem-solving: The scheduling specialists must use problem-solving skills to find solutions to scheduling conflicts, such as when multiple employees request the same time off. They also use problem-solving skills to find solutions to other challenges, such as when an employee is sick, and the company needs to find a replacement.
Organization: The scheduling specialists must use organizational skills to keep track of multiple calendars, schedules, and other data. Organizational skills can also help you keep track of the many tasks you perform each day.
Importantly, the scheduling specialist must possess the ability of attention to detail.
