Responsibilities
The Healthcare Interpreter 2 provides interpreting and translation services in a culturally sensitive manner in order to facilitate communication between the limited-English proficient (LEP) patients/families and the healthcare team. Interpreting services are provided for healthcare facilities participating in the contracted language provider network, via telephone or other remote technology. Act as a mentor to the Healthcare Interpreter 1 and conducts special projects for management.Qualifications
Education• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required• Completion of 40-hour Healthcare Interpreter certification training within 90 days of hire or transfer into position required• Associate's Degree preferred Experience• 2 years of experience interpreting and/or translating in a healthcare setting required• Proficient in Medical Terminology in both English and target language required Licenses and Certifications• One of the following is requiredo CCHI - Certified Healthcare Interpretero NBCMI - National Board Certified Medical InterpreterDisclaimers
