What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy - Endoscopy Tech position at Community Medical?
This is a full time (0.8 - 1.0 Status), day shift Endoscopy Tech Position in the Endoscopy Department.
The Endoscopy Technician functions as an integral part of the Endoscopy team, providing both delegated patient care as well as technical support related to the delivery of care. As a patient care provider, the Endoscopy Technician assists with data collection and entry, patient preparation and transport, as well as procedure/case set up and room set up and turn over. The Endoscopy Technician assists with procedures and the collection of specimens as assigned. Non-clinical support includes the cleaning, high-level disinfection and proper care and handling of endoscopic equipment and accessories. The Endoscopy Technician also fulfils other duties as directed, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of stock supplies, keeping accurate records and assisting in maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Cross training to role of scheduler for fill in may be required.
Minimum Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- GTS Certification and recent Hospital experience (2-5 years) in a clinical caregiver role and/or previous experience as a GTS required.
- Verbal and written communication skills required.
- Current BLS upon hire; Healthcare Provider BLS within three (3) months of hire.
- Current experience in GI Lab.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred/Desired:
- CNA preferred.
- GI Tech Certification preferred.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.
Weekend Requirements: Call every 3rd weekend plus some evenings.
