Certified Sterile Process Technician (CST)
Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE
Shift length: 8 hours
Start Time: 1300
Unit: Surgery
Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Monday-Friday, rotating weekend and holiday call.
Required qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Sterile Processing Certification, if not certified, certification is required within 12 months of hire
- One (1) year of sterile processing experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Prefer one year hospital setting within the past three years
- Three (3) years’ previous experience preferred
Additional Information/Department information: The Surgical Services Instrument Processing Technician is responsible for the reprocessing and sterilization of instruments and supplies for the surgical suite and all hospital-sterilized instrumentation. This includes replenishing of inventory such as implants, burs, blades, and consumables housed inside sterile containers. Works collaboratively with patient care staff to store all sterilized items in the appropriate manner and location.
