What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery - Certified Surgical Tech position at Community Medical?
Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
$15,000 Sign-on Bonus with two (2) year commitment to that role. Open to external applicates who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.
Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE
Shift length: 10 hours
Start Time: 0630
Unit: Surgery
Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Weekday and weekend call coverage required on a rotating basis.
Required qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology through an accredited Surgical tech program
- BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
Preferred qualifications:
- National Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- One (1) year of Surgical Technologist acute care experience
- Medical terminology experience preferred
Additional Information/Department information: The Surgical Technologist is an allied health professional competent of surgical procedures and an integral part of the surgical care team. The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision and delegation of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in theory and application of aseptic and sterile technique, knowledgeable of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and surgeon preferences to properly prepare the sterile field, supplies, instrumentation and assisting through a combination of knowledge, participation, anticipation, and critical thinking. The Surgical Technologist works alongside and assists the circulating nurse as well as other members of the surgical team.
