What are the responsibilities and job description for the RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST position at COMMUNITY MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE, INC?
The Radiology Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Transfers, properly positions and sets appropriate technique for patient examinations to obtain desired radiographic results.
Assists radiologist in performance of exams, including contrast preparation and administration, and other related duties as needed.
Maintains order and cleanliness in department and with portable equipment.
Secures and returns supplies. Maintains room stock.
Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
Answers phone and follows through on request.
Performs clerical tasks, as needed (i.e. make and check out discs).
Responsible for correct patient identification, patient transport to and from department, and prompt processing of paperwork on Inpatient and Outpatient.
Responsible for pertinent communication with physicians and nursing staff as needed.
Responsible for input of patient information and exams into system, correct charging of patient exams, and pre-certification with Insurance for patient exams, as needed.
Schedules patients and issues correct preps for exam.
Participates in meetings as required.
Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and makes radiographs for a variety of examinations.
Rotates call schedule according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours. Availability for call is a maximum of a 20 minutes response time.
Cross trains to other modalities, as needed to maintain call responsibility.
Assists Rad Tech students in clinical competency.
Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing imaging.
