Job Summary
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing supplies, equipment, and services. The agent follows up to ensure orders have been transmitted accurately and on a timely basis according to requisition priority.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous purchasing/buying experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and make appropriate self-directed decisions.
- Be able to work effectively under emergency situations.
- Must be knowledgeable of materials management practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Must have health-related industry, materials management background for negotiating contracts that are competitive with market pricing.
- Must be computer software literate.
- Must posses a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance.
Wage: Depending on your work experience, you could earn an annual salary of $51,467 up to $72,053.
