Job Summary
Assesses patient/family needs; plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates care for patients. Participates in patient and family education. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with all ancillary and patient care team members. Consistently demonstrates standards of professional nursing practices in all clinical settings.
Job Qualifications
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio. CPR and ACLS certification are required; Stable, AWHONN and PALS certification preferred for some nursing positions.
- Prior Work Experience:
Prior nursing experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Skills:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychological, educational, and safety related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned servile area. Competency must also be demonstrated in performing nursing skills and operation of equipment specific to Med/Surg., ER and Surgery as noted on the RN skills inventory.
Excellent time management and organizational skills are very helpful. Requires excellent communications skills, both oral and written, as well as being computer literate.
- Independent Judgment:
Handles confidential information, interprets nursing policies and procedures. Must be able to accurately assess patient’s condition and know when to notify the physician. Must use good judgment and common sense in determining the need to contact the Administrator on Call.
