CMHA is looking to hire a full-time, 40 hours per week Clinician I. This position will be located in New Britain, CT 06051. (Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:00 pm).
Compensation: $57k minimum to $76k maximum per year.
Starting salary will be determined based on relevant years of experience.
Position Summary: Serves as active part of a multidisciplinary team that provides outpatient services in a structured therapeutic environment for children and adolescents who present with a wide range of significant behavioral health needs. Engages parents, family members and other pertinent adults to support the child through the therapeutic process. Treatment is aimed at assisting individuals and families by helping them develop the skills necessary to improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities
- Assesses, diagnoses and recommends appropriate treatment for child and family and assists with appropriate referrals and linkage to other services.
- Completes assessment tool, integrates pertinent information to establish diagnosis, and analyzes data to create clinical formulation within designated timeframe.
- Develops achievable goals with client and family; with measurable and behavioral objectives within designated timeframes. Monitors treatment progress and provides updates within identified timeframes and as necessary.
- Performs individual, family and group treatment utilizing evidence based practices to facilitate positive strength‐based change.
- Collaborates and coordinates with external agencies such as schools, pediatricians, DCF, juvenile court and other social service agencies.
- Responds to crisis situations and triages appropriately, communicating clearly with professionals –internal and external – to meet presenting client needs.
- Master’s degree in behavioral health (psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, and/or alcohol and drug counseling).
- Must be licensed (LPC, LMFT, LCSW).
- Certified in first aid and CPR.
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English).
- Valid DMV License.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Demonstrates beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Experience in, or the ability and willingness to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, which includes appointment scheduling, authorization tracking, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
