CMHA is looking to hire a Recovery Specialist for our Young Adult Assertive Comm Treatment Program. This position will be located at 29 Russell St. New Britain, CT 06052. Monday - Friday 8:30-4:30.

Compensation Range: $20 minimum to $29 maximum.

Starting salary will be determined based on relevant years of experience.

Position Summary: The Recovery Specialist will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals recovering from addiction. This position requires a compassionate and understanding individual who can assist clients in setting and achieving recovery goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a community-based program and be able to work a full-time schedule Monday through Friday.

  • Provides advocacy, support and guidance with contacting external organizations (Social Security, DSS, DCF, DMHAS, etc).
  • Educates clients to utilize emergency and community resources to help meet basic needs.
  • Works with clients to teach life skills necessary to live independently in the community. This includes assisting with finances and entitlements, supporting the development of activities of daily living, nutrition, housing maintenance and repair, and prompting to encourage task completion.
  • Collaborates and integrates with other CMHA teams to ensure all services provided to client are communicated with clients whole treatment team
  • Assures timely documentation is maintained in accordance with CMHA policies and procedures, including but not limited to progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, program orientation, and consent to treat, activity logs, and monthly targeted case management notes. Maintains appropriate caseload as determined by CMHA and funder
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field preferred or equivalent experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Will become certified in MANDT, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Participate in training courses on an annual basis, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beginner to intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in or willingness to learn how to use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
