What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant GA/HR position at Community Mental Health Authority?
Responsibilities: Seeking a high energy, creative, self-motivated individual to work with a dynamic team under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer. This position will provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and organizes complex activities. Duties include making the CHRO’s weekly meeting schedule, establishing grievance files and scheduling grievance meetings, letters of understanding, electronic personnel record filing, copying, typing correspondence, and departmental forms. Receives, screens, and routes telephone calls, and assists walk-in visitors by ascertaining needs, explaining departmental policies and procedures, initiating necessary paperwork, or referring them to appropriate staff. Prepares Human Resource Committee for CMHA-CEI Board of Directors agenda, packet and minutes on a timely basis. Utilizes considerable independent judgment, decision making, and a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality to support the Human Resources Department. This position requires proficiency in computer skills, typing, proofreading, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion. Extensive knowledge of the area of assignment, with general knowledge of the entire agency, is required to assist in efficient and orderly operations. Requirements: Possession of High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required. A minimum of two years of progressively more responsible administrative/secretarial experience required. Human Resources experience preferred. Must be able to pass a Microsoft Word and Excel exam with a proficient score. Experience with Microsoft Visio is highly preferred. Some experience with Microsoft Access is preferred. Data entry experience preferred. Ability to interact with the consumer or the public in a friendly professional manner is required. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required.
