• Responsibilities :
• Under the supervision of the CATS Coordinator, SAS / MH Corrections, at the Ingham County Jail, serves as a Master’s level professional clinician and will provide mental health or co-occurring treatment via individual and group therapy services to incarcerated individuals. Will prioritize, assess and direct consumer treatment as well as provide therapeutic interventions. May include short-term interventions as well as crisis management for individuals with mental illness, personality disorders and substance use disorders. Assesses functional and dysfunctional behavior. Provides referrals to various jail based programs. Responsible for detailed case documentation, compliance of court orders and maintains the jail’s electronic memo system. Assesses inmates in an effort to determine level of care or possible jail diversion to either the CEI system or the community. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program / sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
• Requirements :
• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with a person who has a substance use disorder required or one academic year of graduate practicum / internship experience working with persons who have a substance use disorder required. Candidate must be able to work well with community partners. Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or must become certified within a maximum of 3 years from date of hire or change in regulation. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use required.
• Conditional Employment Requirement :
• Offers will be contingent upon the results of a background verification & credentialing procedure consisting of : Michigan State Police clearance check, federal background check and fingerprinting required through Ingham County Jail, Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) review, verification of a professional license, Medicaid / Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check & verification of an acceptable work history. Candidate must be able to pass annual LEIN review. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

• 57,125-$64,842 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $74,972. 40 hours a week. CMHA-CEI offers a very rich benefits package for full time employees.
