What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time- Client Services Specialist - HOC (Weekend Shifts) position at Community Mental Health Authority?
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Coordinator, House of Commons (HOC) residential treatment program. The House of Commons is a 40 bed residential substance use disorder facility that has been providing best practice therapeutic services for men within the State of Michigan. This position provides individual and group therapy with an emphasis on providing case management. This position also monitors the overall therapeutic environment in keeping with the House of Commons clinical schedule and processes. On occasion may be required to conduct “pat downs” and urine screens. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures. If interested in improving or gaining Substance Use Disorder clinical practice skills, the House of Commons offers an inclusive environment in which to do so.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required. Two years of professional experience in substance abuse treatment including conducting cognitive behavioral-base relapse and recidivism treatment with criminal offenders required. Must be Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or must become certified within a maximum of three years from date of hire or change in regulation. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in written and verbally is required. Access to reliable transportation for job related use required.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police check, Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) review, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Candidate must be able to pass annual LEIN review. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
