Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Community Methodist Church. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in accounting software.
Duties
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare Year End Giving Statements
- Analyze financial data and provide insights on financial performance.
- Utilize accounting software such Excel and Power Church for efficient bookkeeping processes.
- Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and tax preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory.
