About the Role:
The Passageways to Employment and Education (PREE) Program is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated professional to help us serve more individuals in need. This position supports CME’s mission and vision while assisting the Health Care Authority’s (HCA) Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) in establishing an Employment and Education Program designed for individuals with SUD. We prioritize providing services to Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color (BIPOC), and other historically underserved communities.
As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals on their journey to stability and self-sufficiency through meaningful employment and educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide person-centered employment and education support tailored to individual needs.
- Assist individuals in building strong support systems to achieve success in education and employment.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Recovery Services and program teams to implement and coordinate program initiatives.
- Manage program requirements, including tracking systems, outreach services, and documentation.
- Conduct outreach and marketing to referral sources and community partners.
- Ensure all client interactions and documentation adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Represent the program at community meetings, outreach events, and training sessions.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Education & Experience:
- AA in a related field OR two years of relevant experience (or a combination of both).
- Experience providing Foundational Community Supports or Recovery Services is a plus.
- Certified Peer Counselor or Recovery Coach preferred.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License and reliable transportation with insurance.
- Ability to pass background checks.
- Washington Health Plan Finder Navigator certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
Skills & Abilities:
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse individuals.
- Experience with electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of telehealth platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
- Excellent boundary-setting, teamwork, and organizational skills
